Daniel Kinyanjui was born in Ngecha village outside Nairobi, Kenya, in 1969, years before Ngecha became the Mecca for young folk seeking a future in art.
At first a house painter to earn a living, young Daniel soon returned to Ngecha where other young Artists were gathering to exchange ideas and the meager tools they could afford to produce work. There Daniel Kinyanjui captured the attention of Ruth Schaffner, a well known collector of African art who frequently supported young artists. Exposed to other already successful artists and styles, Daniel soon developed his own dynamic form and style of expression.
Focused mainly on human relationships with the environment and their harmony his works emerge from interactions between humans, flora and fauna. Large imposing and colorful forms dominate his canvasses and portray a strong message of his own feelings.
Daniel Kinyanjui’s work is an excellent investment in the rising popularity of African painters.
