Samuel Njeru

Samuel Njeru was born in Meru, Kenya, and is one of four brothers with artistic talent. Njeru studied science in school and college, but art was always his love. In spite of being discouraged to pursue art as a profession by his parents, he kept painting, capturing the beauty of nature and children.

Njeru feels that people do not have sufficient appreciation for the local environment and wildlife, leading to the neglect and destruction of Kenya’s natural resources. He hopes that his watercolor paintings will throw light on the beauty that is surrounding us and to help people appreciate Kenya’s splendor.

Njeru uses watercolor, pastels and a combination on paper. He does realistic paintings.
